 Timeline 

6 Months - 1 month of preliminary research, 2 months of field research, 1 month of synthesis, another 3 months of survey and field research.

 Role on the Team 

Assistant researcher. I was tasked with helping to schedule and organize timing of user interviews, taking notes, pictures, and run the video camera during user interviews, and ensured all materials were ready for standard paperwork and cultural probes. I also conducted several 2-4 hour interviews as head researcher. I was also involved with the survey portion of the project, where I helped arrange the survey and present the final data to stakeholders. I assisted in synthesizing the user research and presenting it to stakeholders within the company at various points of the project to keep them in the loop of our team's progress.

 Overview of Project 

• Planned and scheduled travel and interviews with a variety of candidates across the USA for an open-ended study to determine customer’s needs and problems.

 

• Attended all interviews that ranged from 2 to 4 hours, assisting in conducting them and also leading interviews myself.

 

• Lead videography and photographing throughout interviews, as well keeping time and notes.

 

• Lead in analysis and synthesis of interview data in order to learn the most we could about each interviewee’s behaviors, needs, and problems.

 

• Worked with a team to pull all interview data together into a presentation format for a larger team to work with the data for both product creation and marketing strategy.

 

• Assisted and edited the creation of a follow-up survey, as well as being part of the team to look at the final data and analyze what we can do with the new quantitative data to go along with the qualitative data.

 

• Assisted in using interview data to create customer segments, personas, and user journeys.
